AbstractThis article discusses the use of prisons as punishment in Norway during period 1850 to today. It looks at ideas about and how they manifest themselves prison sites buildings. also investigates implications various designs prisoners policy.Parts are based on an exhibition that took place Oslo 2018: Six Norwegian 1850-today: Ideas, spaces, experiences. The included a total 20 interviews which were asked whether relevant them. ends with discussion architecture for prisons, their purposes, effects.
